Buying Anchor Tag Links From a Word Cloud Page
Europe has seen it’s share of word cloud pages over the last year. But the idea didn’t take hold here in the US till just recently with Joel Comm’s launch of his 500 Word page, which is run by his LinkSizzler script. Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock, I’m certain you’ve heard the BUZZ. This idea is not new. But instead, it’s a NEW twist on the Pixel Ad page, which got it start with Alex Tew, who made a cool Million dollars from just one of these pages barely a year ago.
More of these word cloud pages are springing up now. And from my experience with the few keyword tag links I’ve purchased from these types of sites, it’s a good way to get your site crawled quickly and start getting traffic. But you DO need to use common sense when choosing where and how to buy these one-way backlinks. Click here for more in-depth word cloud info and keyword tag buying tips.
With all the hubub about buying one-way anchor tag links from from these new word cloud pages, I thought it appropriate to post an article today that focuses on techniques for using anchor text in building backlinks to your website. I hope you find it useful.
Using Anchor Text & Incoming Links Get to the Top of the Search Engines
By Stuart McKeown
Anchor text is the name for the text that appears on a specific link that leads to a website. For example Affiliate Marketing is a link with the anchor text Affiliate Marketing
Having anchor text like this pointing back to your website will increase your positioning in search engines for the term Make Money Online. Now bearing in mind, that term is going to be pretty competitive. But with enough work it would be possible for you to slowly creep your way up to the top.
So what’s the best way to get incoming links with the Anchor Text that you want?
Submitting links to Directories is a good start, this allows you to build a link structure by exchanging links. So directories will ask for a reciprocal link (asking you to link back to them). I would normally recommend rotating your Anchor Text when submitting to a lot of directories between about 4 or 4 different phrases. This will stop the search engines penalising you for a lot of quick backlinks all using the same Anchor Text.
Writing articles & submitting them to article directories then having a footer at the bottom with some links back to your sites. This will increase your exposure greatly if you write a good, useful & interesting article. Check out Article Post Robot, and my current article submission favorite, Artemis Pro if you want to be able to submit articles to hundreds of directories at once without all that manual labouring. Writing a good article could mean more than 300+ backlinks for specific anchor text which would give you a great SERPS (Search Engine Position) Boost.
Exchanging links with other webmasters, especially with established sites of a similar niche to your own is another good way to get backlinks. However this takes time & patience too. However it can be well worth the effort, as you can build good solid relationships with other webmasters.
Link Exchanges can provide an automated service for trading links. A WORD OF WARNING however. Due to the nature of these types of services (i.e. the automation) they do a attract a lot of spam & black hat webmasters trying to get links to their sites quickly for indexing purposes. You could end up finding yourself penalized for being associated with a ‘bad neighborhood’.
Joining forums & adding a link to your site with relevant Anchor Text in your signature (provided the forum doesn’t have rel=nofollow attached to external links) is another good method of getting solid backlinks. If you are a frequent poster this could mean having hundreds of permanent links on hundreds of pages of any forum you contribute to.
Paying for featured links on sites is very popular at the moment, especially the new Word Cloud pages -And for a number of good reasons:
- High Pagerank sites get spidered more frequently
- More chance of the spiders reaching your site
- Getting linked by an Authority site can help your pages get indexed deeper
- Searchers visiting these pages can result in Increased Targeted traffic to your site
- And most importantly - these links are One-way, non-reciprocal links. You aren’t returning the favor by linking back. And Google and the rest of the major search engines give one-way links a LOT of weight.

And lastly, one powerful method of getting good Anchor Text backlinks to your site is to code an application or service that people can use on their sites. Then use the copyright to include a link back to your site. This could be anything from a hit counter, something that shows pagerank or the number of backlinks your site has. If you code something original, chances are you will get a serious amout of backlinks easily.
